Your library card is valid for a period of 3 years. Your account will indicate from the last 30 days when your card will expire. When you see the message "your registration has expired", you will need to renew your registration information in person at one of our branches in order to remove this block.

The Library needs up-to-date information such as address, telephone number or email to ensure that notifications of items ready to pick, overdues, fine and fees. Also, the California State Library requires yearly statistics, so, we need to remove any cards that have not been used for more than 3 years to have a more accurate account.

  1. Need to be able to renew the library card online, particularly when all the information is the same.

  2. There's no indication as to what materials are needed for renewal. Do I need proof of address in the form of a recent bill? Photo ID?

And I second Tanya Meyers comment.

  3. Please allow for online renewal.

  4. Card renewals should be available online. At the very least have integrated systems since I am using my library card at least every 2 weeks to borrow and download books to my Kindle. I use my card number to borrow the eBooks, so it should be considered activity.

  5. Very hard to come to the library when you have 2 stress fractures (knees) and have been checking out Kindle books for the last 2 months. Not being able to renew this on line is not user friendly. You have just cut off my way of getting books until I can get out of the house. Shame on you.

  6. ALL items can be renewed online, including Kindle ebooks IF there are no holds on the items. This is the same as for print titles. Any issues that might arise that can't be resolved online, may be by giving the library a call. Happy Holidays.

  7. I agree. We should be able to renew out library cards online. It's difficult to get to the library and renew and now I can't listen to a good book while commuting until I can find time to come into a branch. We check out books constantly online. That should count toward using your card.

  10. Online library card renewal is a MUST HAVE. My card expired the very day an ebook I put a hold on finally became available to me, and I can't access it. Now my borrowing time will be wasted while I have to renew in person. I should just check the physical book out while I'm there renewing mhy card = defeats the entire purpose of ebook checkouts.
