How do I get a job at the library?
Alameda County Library is governed by the Civil Service Commission and Alameda County Human Resources. Our positions are posted on the Alameda County Human Resources website. We have many classifications including: library pages, library clerks, library assistants, librarians and supervisory positions.
The Library hires for both full and part-time positions. Many of the positions in the Library are part-time.
As a County Department, we follow civil service procedures for hiring. This means that when a position is announced as open, the County invites applications and creates a list of candidates for future openings based on an initial screening process.

We have an ongoing need for experienced librarians with a professional degree to work on an on-call basis.
