Why can't I pay my fines online?

You can pay fines online with a credit or debit card with the MasterCard or Visa logo.

Go to:

  • Log in by clicking the “My Account” button.
  • Click on “$ 00.00 in unpaid fines and bills.”
  • Click the “Pay Online” button.
  • Enter your address, city, state, zip, and email address if it is not already there. Then enter your credit card information.  Security is provided by Verisign
  • Click the “Submit” button.
  • Verify that the information is correct and click the “Submit” button again.
  • A receipt will be emailed to you.You may also print a receipt by clicking the “Print” button.
  • If you experience any problems, contact your branch Accounts Desk.

  1. Sometimes you may see a note next to an overdue item that reads "Fines up to $___" (or similar wording). These fines have not been added to your account yet because the overdue item has not been renewed or returned. Our system does not allow you to pay fines that have not yet officially been added to your account.

  2. Even after paying the bills through credit card(online) why don't I see the change ? My account still shows due.Please let me know if my payments are going through or not.I would be very glad if I could get a response.Thank you.

  3. Dear Rashmitha Rallapalli,

    We are sorry you are having difficulty making payments to your library account online. Could you please confirm to which library card account you are trying to make a payment? I see 3 accounts associated with your phone number. And please let me know what credit card you are using. (The Alameda County Library only accepts Visa and MasterCard, and not American Express or Discover).
