Q

Will you offer WMA audiobooks in Overdrive? Can we make requests for ebooks and audiobooks on Overdrive? Where do we submit requests?

I just noticed you have Overdrive. I only found MP3 files. Will you offer more titles that are popular in the WMA format? I've made purchase suggestions for books on the library website. Where can I place suggestions for Overdrive items?

Answer

WMA format isn't compatible with some operating systems, in particular MAC's. MP3 works with all major operating systems and devices. We are working on a separate form for ebook or downloadable audiobook requests. You may use the current book suggestion box and include in the More Information box that this is for an Overdrive ebook or audiobook. We will purchase popular titles as they become available and within the limits of our budget.

  1. You need to look at the WMA situation on Overdrive again. Overdrive has combined licenses for MP3 and WMA. Probably because of this you've purchased a number of titles that are only available as WMA. This means that even though you've purchased them nobody can check them out. I can provide some examples if you like.
