Q. How can I see the newest audiobooks (CD Books)?

We regularly buy books on CD. We share them among all of the libraries in our system: Albany, the Bookmobile, Castro Valley, Centerville, Dublin, Fremont Main, Irvington, Newark, Niles, San Lorenzo, and Union City.

We are unfortunately unable to borrow non-print materials from outside of that group.

In order to see the latest CD books we have, do the following:

1) Click on My Account in the upper right hand corner and sign in with your name and library card #. While you don't strictly need to do this, it's helpful if you find things to put on hold, becasue if you aren't signed in, the system keeps asking you every time you want to place a hold to identify yourself. Do it up front, and you only have to do it once.

2) Click on the link to search the Classic catalog, since this search works better in that mode

3) Select search by call number, enter CDB as the call number and hit enter.

4) Under where you entered the call number, click the drop down box that says System Sorted and choose Reverse Year. Click Sort. Now you will see all 2000+ CD books (for adults, in English) worted with the newest material on top.

You can further modify the search to include fiction only by entering as the call number CDB Fiction, or change it to J CDB to get children's books.

Hope this helps and happy listening!
