Q. What does FREEZE mean?

If you "freeze" your hold, this means that the hold will not be processed until you "un-freeze" it.  Freezing the hold is used when you are going on vacation or have another reason that you will not be able to use the library for a period of time.  For example, if you have been waiting a long time for a new book and it is about to come in - but you are heading out of town for three weeks - you can freeze it.  You stay at your spot on the hold queue, however other patrons can now check out the item.  I would recommend turning off "freeze" unless you will not be able to visit the library for an extended period of time.
